Happy New Year!
It may be February already but it feels like winter is still with us as we experience frost, snow and wind up in Cookhill! The Parish Council continues to grit the Parish roads as necessary to help to keep motorists safe.
Please remember that the gritting carried out by the Parish Council is done so by volunteer Councillors. Although we do our best to make the roads as safe as possible for road users we still ask that drivers take every due care and attention when driving around the village. Please keep vehicles off the road during bad weather to enable us to safely grit the roads!
New vehicle activated sign on Edgioake Lane
The long awaited vehicle activate sign is due for installation on Edgioake Lane in March so we are hoping that this area of road will become safer for residents and motorists.
Community Speed Watch
West Mercia Safer Roads Partnership are coming to Cookhill in March to train a group of willing volunteers to use equipment ready for the Community Speed Watch. After the training the group will be carrying out the speed watch to make the roads safer.
Hopefully this will make some drivers think about their speed as they drive around our parish!
The Parish Computer Club and Internet Cafe has started 2018 well with lots of new attendees. The club, run by the clerk, is held on a Wednesday morning from 10 till 12 in the Cookhill Village Hall rear meeting room.
Please come along if you feel like a little extra assistance when using your laptops and tablets and if you fancy meeting like-minded local people. There is tea and biscuits too!
If you would like more information about the club you can call in to the Village Hall on a Wednesday morning to meet everyone or you can call the clerk on 07584 687 283.
